Hands-on Platform Engineer with 20+ years of experience building and operating production systems across telecommunications and banking. I build the secure, scalable platforms that production agentic AI systems run on — combining deep AWS infrastructure, security, and data platform experience with hands-on AI agent development.

Currently building and operating petabyte-scale cloud platforms at Telstra. Former Chapter Lead for 200 engineers who chose to move back to an individual contributor role because building is what I do best.

What I do now

At Telstra, I'm building AI-native platform operations. I've built cross-cloud data platforms with Databricks powered Delta Sharing over private connectivity, implemented fine-grained data governance with AWS Lake Formation across a petabyte-scale data lake, and designed agentic AI workflows using MCP for self-healing infrastructure.

Background

I've worked with Telstra, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and TCS. At CBA, I led the end-to-end setup of their Big Data and Machine Learning program, building a team of 120+ people and designing the Omnia data analytics platform. At Telstra, I built and operated a ~1 PB AWS-based Data Lake and large-scale stream processing systems with Kafka and Spark.

Technical interests

Agentic AI systems (LangChain, MCP), cloud security and governance, platform engineering, data engineering with Databricks and Delta Lake, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, and Python library design with strict typing. See my full tech stack.

Databricks Generative AI Associate, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, TOGAF Enterprise Architect v9. Previously held 9 AWS certifications including Solutions Architect Pro, DevOps Engineer Pro, ML Specialty, and Big Data Specialty.
